Meet our staff:
Alan Hoggard
Less than a year after graduating from
Bertie High School in 1979, Alan began working with Georgia Pacific as
an equipment operator. Through a variety of operations in forest
management and logging he worked his way to becoming a procurement
forester in 1990. For the next six years he cruised and bought timber
across eastern North Carolina. Through these years, Alan gained valuable
knowledge and professionalism. He built his career from the ground up
and developed confidence from appraising timber and competitive bidding.
These important traits were just what he needed to reach his long-term
goal of building his own business. In 1996, Carolina Pine and Hardwood was born.
Tammy
Hoggard
Tammy has been the bookkeeper and office
manager since September of 1997. Prior to joining the company, she
worked for the state of North Carolina in the Clerk of Superior
Court's office.
David Barber
David grew up in a family of foresters and began
working in the field when he was still in high school. He knew early on
that working outside, in the woods, was what he loved. By the time he
graduated from Jamesville High School in 1992 he had decided that his next
step would be forestry school. In June of 1995 he completed the first NCFA ProLogger Training Program. In 1996 he graduated from Wayne Community
College Forestry Program, and returned to work with his uncle in forestry. In
September of 2000 he came to work with Alan and Tammy Hoggard. As a forestry technician, he cruises and appraises timber as
well as managing logging crews and marketing timber. More than a decade
after joining the Carolina Pine and Hardwood team, he
knows that he made the right decision. He enjoys working out in the
woods as much as ever. Now, he adds "working with the public" to the
many experiences he enjoys and learns from every day.
Trent
White
Trent came to work with Carolina Pine & Hardwood
in May of 2003 after graduating from Bertie High School. Trent cruises
timber and handles special projects associated with logging supervision
and road maintenance.
Allyson
Hoggard
Allyson joined Carolina Pine & Hardwood in
January of 2012 after attending Peace College and graduating in 2011.
She is a timber cruiser, office assistant, and the daughter of Alan
& Tammy, and is looking forward to learning the business and carrying
Carolina Pine & Hardwood forward in the future.
